IOWA WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT SAYS JASPER COUNTY’S LABOR FORCE FELL BY 380

LAST MONTH, BUT THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE WAS UNCHANGED. WORKFORCE

DEVELOPMENT NUMBERS SHOW 950 UNEMPLOYED, OUT OF A LABOR FORCE TOTALLING

16-THOUSAND 530. THAT’S 5.8-PERCENT UNEMPLOYMENT, WHICH MATCHES JUNE’S

RATE. IN JUNE…JASPER COUNTY’S LABOR FORCE WAS JUST SHY OF 17-THOUSAND
 
AT 16-THOUSAND 910, WITH 980 LOOKING FOR JOBS. STATEWIDE…THE JULY

UNEMPLOYMENT RATE INCREASED TO 4.8-PERCENT, UP FROM 4.6-PERCENT IN JUNE.
