A percentage of the gas tax proceeds are allocated to cities across the state, and Grinnell city manager Russ Behrens  says any extra money will likely go right to the streets.

The annual Grinnell Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Celebration has been postponed.

2/24/15 Heavy snowfall on the way

The city of Grinnell and much of the state is bracing for a heavy snowfall today. 


Grinnell property owners in all areas except for the Central Business District have 36 hours after a snowfall has ended to remove snow and ice accumulations from public sidewalks next to their property.

The Poweshiek County Board of Supervisors are making an offer on the former Mental Health Center building on west 4th Avenue in Grinnell.
