3/08/10 BOSWELL TO SEEK EIGHTH TERM
Democratic U.S. Congressman Leonard Boswell will seek an eighth term in office.
That's despite speculation from some Republicans that he would retire. The 76-year-old representative filed paperwork with the Iowa Secretary of State's Office Friday. Iowa's 3rd Congressional District includes Des Moines and stretches east covering several counties, including Poweshiek, Jasper, Mahaska, Tama, Benton, Iowa and Keokuk counties.
The filing deadline for state and federal candidates in the primary is March 19.
